Based on events in Luke 2:25-35, “Simeon’s Dream” relates the momentous day when a devout man’s lifelong dream to see the Messiah comes true, allowing him to see the baby Jesus with his own eyes. The drama will be presented at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary.
Moving holiday music will add to the depth of the presentation. Winter debuted “Simeon’s Dream” in 2000, and the play has taken him to Illinois, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Alabama and many locations in Texas, including performances two years in a row at the Lena Pope Chapel in Fort Worth.
“Please invite a friend on this special day,” the Rev. Bill Duke, FUMC pastor, said. “Mark will be on hand after the performance at a display table that will give information about One Man Show, along with copies of his devotional book, ‘If There Is No God.’ There will also be a DVD of ‘Simeon’s Dream’ available for a donation to Mark’s ministry.
“A love offering will be taken for Mark on the day of the performance. As a self-supporting evangelist, he relies solely on churches and individuals to fund his ministry. Mark lives in Fort Worth with his wife, Laura. They have three children.”
