The George West Longhorns defeated the Three Rivers Bulldogs 28-17 Friday night.
Offensive leaders for the Longhorns were Shannon Taylor who rushed 18 times for 132 yards and Marciano Sanchez who had 11 carries for 77 yards. Cayleb Holt added 30 yards and scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter to seal the win for George West.
Three Rivers running back Rico Rodriguez carried five times and scored both of the Bulldogs’ touchdowns. Quarterback Garrett Luthringer completed 7 of 14 passes for 104 yards.
The Longhorns will begin their Division I bi-district matchup against the San Diego Vaqueros at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Longhorn Field.
The Bulldogs begin their playoff games at 6 p.m. Saturday with a game against the Santa Rosa Warriors at Javelina Stadium in Kingsville.
