The Lady Trojans earned their first district win (1-2) with a dominating 54-16 victory over the Lady Bucs.
The Lady Trojans raced out to a 20-0 lead after the first eight minutes. It was a 37-5 contest at the half with the A.C. Jones girls controlling the tilt.
The Miller Lady Bucs did more than double their offensive output in the second half but it wasn’t nearly enough. The Beeville girls held a 43-9 lead going into the final period and finished things off with a 11-7 advantage over the home team.
“Chelsea Contreras, Victoria Elizalde, Alisa Patterson and Randi Maupin all scored in double digits. The entire team played very well and smart,” said Lady Trojan head coach Chuck Youngblood.
The Beeville girls met the Port Lavaca Calhoun Sandies last night (Friday) in Beeville and will be on the road on Tuesday night in Rockport to meet the state-ranked Lady Pirates.
Next Friday evening will have the Lady Trojans back in Beeville to face the other Lady Trojans, from Moody.
