Santa to arrive in Three Rivers Dec. 1

The Christmas season in Three Rivers will officially begin on Monday night, Dec. 1, at 6 p.m. on the town square with the lighting of the town square and a program of music and entertainment followed by the arrival of Santa Claus on a Three Rivers Volunteer Fire Department fire truck that evening a 6:30 p.m. in front of the First State Bank on Dibrell Street.

Santa will again be played by Dexter Beginnes of FCI-Three Rivers. Festivities will begin at 6 p.m. when Mayor James Liska will officially open the season by turning on the holiday lighting display on the town square. There will be music and entertainment by the children of Ms. Ann’s Kindercare and the Ukedoodlers directed by Mrs. Dorothy McClendon of Mineral. The group is made up of students from Bee and Live Oak counties that have a love for playing the ukulele. The Three Rivers Rotary Club will sell barbecue beef fajitas.

Santa will be available to visit with the children individually and give each of them a treat. This year photos will be taken of each of the children with Santa, prints will be made and available for pickup at the Chamber office in City Hall. The event is an activity of the Retail Promotions Committee of the Three Rivers Chamber of Commerce.
