Mrs. Guadalupe G. Salazar, 67, died on Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, at her home, after a long illness.

She was born in Beeville on Dec. 13, 1942, to the late Alfredo and Rosa Paiz Garcia. She was a housekeeper and a retired home provider.

Mrs. Salazar was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel G. Salazar; her parents; and two sisters, Francisca Rodriguez and Hilaria Guerrero.

Survivors include four sons, Mario Salazar, Cristobal Salazar, Reynaldo (Liz) Salazar and Manuel (JoAnn) Salazar; three daughters, Grace (Jose Lugo) Trejo, Mary Alice Morales and Berta G. (Joe Soliz) Flores; one sister, Maria Soliz; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held Saturday at Treviño Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. James Catholic Church. Burial followed at San Pedro Cemetery in the Clareville community. Rev. Balaswamy Pasala officiated. Fernando Cisneros and Rosie Maldonado provided special music.

Pallbearers were Andrew Salazar, Carlos Flores Jr., Gilbert “Pingo” Morales, Jacob Salazar, Randall Coronado and Manuel Salazar III.
