JV, freshman Bobcats win silver in tourney

The JV Bobcats took silver at the Refugio Basketball tournament over the weekend. The champs are (first row) Quentin Bellows, Jarred Contreras, Justin Franklin, (second row) Josh Alsop, Ruben Ramirez, Cristian Padron, Thomas Ramirez, Evan Klaevemann, Eugenio Hernandez, and Coach Anthoy Quintanilla.

The Junior Varsity team and the freshman team both won second place honors at the annual Refugio Bobcat Tournament on Saturday.

Sixteen teams competed. Both teams lost to Goliad which won the tournament championship. The teams defeated Woodsboro and Three Rivers.

“All the players contributed to both wins,” said Coach Quinanilla. “Thanks to the community for all their support during the tournament.”

The team Most Valuable Players for the tournament were freshman Brett Davis and JV player Cristan Padron.

Friday, the Bobcats will commence district play at home against Banquete Bulldogs.
