Throughout the school year, teachers and administrators from Beeville ISD participate in training and other activities to help develop teachers, especially new teachers, according to Nancy Jones, assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction.

As part of a Texas Education Agency grant, Kathi Ruh of Just Ask Publications has been providing training.

The grant is a Beginning Teacher Induction and Mentoring grant.

Mrs. Ruh reviewed various topics in the training sessions, including leading the learning, planning instruction, implementing instruction, assessing learning and the instructional program, orchestrating a positive environment, organizing a productive environment, professional and collegial collaboration, active learning, how to work together to support new teachers and other topics.

The teachers and administrators are looking forward to additional activities with Mrs. Ruh during the week of Feb. 8.
