TRJH Bulldogs bow to Jourdanton Indians, 28-23

The Junior High Basketball squads hosted Jourdanton last week. The 7th grade team came up short 23-28.

Marcos Cruz led all scorers with 11 points. Juan Rios added 7 points, while Dustin Terry and Lonnie Reyes had 2 points apiece and Weston Huff had 1 point. Elijah Lopez, Kris Tanguma and Huff had 4 assists apiece.

The Bulldogs made a 6-2 run at the end of the the game but came up short. In the 8th grade game, the game got off to a fast pace as the Indians led at halftime 23-17. The Bulldogs kept up with the Indians throughout the second half but came up short 34-40. Hagan Johnston led the Bulldogs in scoring with 14 points followed by Adam Romero with 12 points. Rounding out the scoring was Ahmit Patel and Tanner Johanson with 3 points apiece and Avery Newport with 2 points.

Defensively Romero had 6 rebounds and Keller Hughes and Gage Saenz had 4 rebounds. Other Bulldogs contributing to the hard fought game game were Jordan Hines, Chris Lopez , Travis Smith and Dillon Guajardo.

The Bulldogs finished the season Tuesday evening by hosting county rival George West.
