He was born July 20, 1945, in Bay City.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Micaela P. Gutierrez; and brother, Eristeo P. Gutierrez Jr.
Survivors include his father, Eristeo Gutierrez Sr. of Mathis; two sisters, Estefana (Benjamin) Hernandez of Sandia and Elma (Fernando) Tamez of George West; four brothers, Ernesto (Josefina) Gutierrez of Dallas, Esteban (Rosa) Gutierrez of Houston, and Enrique and Eligio Gutierrez, both of Mathis; 15 nieces and nephews; and 20 great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Thursday at noon at Dobie Funeral Home chapel with a rosary recited there at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
Arrangements were entrusted to Dobie Funeral Home in Mathis.
