The UIL realignment committee announced the following changes to district alignment for George West and Three Rivers high schools.

These changes will remain in effect for the 2010 and 2011. George West high school will be aligned in District 15 Division 1 along with Cotulla, Jourdanton, Natalia, San Antonio Cole and Universal City Randolph.

Three Rivers high school is in District 14 Division 2 with Dilley, Karnes City, Nixon-Smiley, Poth, SA Brooks Academy and Stockdale. “I am excited about the new district.  I think there are some really good schools that will force us to compete at a very high level.  It is unfortunate that only two teams will make the playoffs.  This district has four teams that made the playoffs last year and it will be very competitive.  The basketball teams are very good also.  The girls team from Poth won the state championship a few years ago,” said Randy Palmer, TRISD Athletic Director/Head Football Coach.
