“One of our show’s main priorities is our commitment to the livestock industry and the agriculture leaders of tomorrow. Junior exhibitors learn many valuable life lessons during their years of showing livestock, which will serve them well throughout their lives,” said Bradford S. Barnes, the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo’s executive vice president and general manager. “We started out 114 years ago as a livestock show and our focus remains the same today.”
Winning exhibitors are awarded cash “premiums” – this year to exceed $89,985 – in addition to monies generated from the sale of animals in the show’s sale of champion steers, lambs, barrows and wether goats. More than 22,000 head of world-class livestock from across the country will be on exhibit throughout the 24-day run of the show. Four national shows will be hosted at the event.
The Stock Show showcases the nation’s dynamic livestock industry to more than 900,000 visitors mostly from the Metroplex and surrounding areas. Approximately 30 percent of visitors are from outside the Metroplex and other states as well as other countries. Besides livestock, the show includes educational exhibits designed to educate visitors on the livestock industry and provides 4 acres of shopping to suit most any taste.
Now in its 114th year, the legendary Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo features entertainment events for the entire family.
