After the first inning the Lady Eagles led 1 to 0. In the second inning Mallory Jessop led off with a stand up double then stole third base to put the Lady Eagles in scoring position.
Melissa Cisneros got an RBI when the she hit a fly ball to the left fielder who had difficulty fielding the ball. Next up, Bria Brown hit a triple that scored Ashley Barraza who was put in to run for Cisneros from first.
Malorie Nesloney got and RBI when she hit one to the short stop that was too hot to handle and over threw first.
Nesloney then reached third on a perfectly executed sacrifice bunt by Trista Yanez.
Bluemel then knocked in Nesloney to score on an error by the first baseman. Niemann then hit a stand up triple to clear the bases. Next batter Hannah Carmichael hit a sacrifice RBI to the short stop.
The Lady Eagles were on top with a score of 7 to 0. With Megan Carter in the circle and the Lady Eagles playing good defense, the opposing team had difficulty putting the ball in play.
In the bottom of the third, Brown led off with a single and a stolen base, Nesloney then sacrificed to move Brown to third base.
Yanez then walked to have runners on the corners for Bluemel who rips a 2 RBI single to score Brown and Yanez, making the score after three innings of play 9-0.
In the bottom of the fourth the Lady Eagles continued the hitting barrage, with Carter leading off with a single but Carter reached second on a bad throw followed by Cisneros who was hit by a pitch.
With runners on first and second, Brown uncorked a shot to center-field for another 2 RBI stand up triple to score pinch runner Melinda Hernandez from second and Cisneros.
Meghan Saunders then reached first on a throwing error by the catcher, Bluemel walked and Niemann reached second on a fielder’s choice, scoring Bluemel and Saunders. Carmichael hit an RBI single to score Niemann.
Carter got the win with a one-hit, seven-strikeout performance.
