The young Lady Trojan varsity basketball team struggled at times this year but three girls were named to the all-district squads.

Freshman point guard Victoria Elizalde was named to the District 30-4A’s second team. Before a late season ankle injury slowed the speedy guard, Elizalde was averaging in double figures and headed the tough Lady Trojan defense with her quick hands and feet.

Two Lady Trojans were named to the district’s honorable mention list. Junior guard Chelsea Contreras and freshman Alisa Patterson garnered the accolade for coach Chuck Youngblood’s team.

The Lady Trojans were also well represented on the district’s all-academic team. To qualify, the player must be in good standing with the varsity team and maintain at least a 90 average in all her classroom/academic endeavors.

The student/athletes earning this accolade on the Lady Trojans include Theresa Amador, Anyssa Barbosa, Ashley Galle, Natalie Dominguez, Victoria Elizalde and Paige McKinney.
