She was a member of Faith United Church of Woodsboro and served in many capacities in the church throughout the years.
She was born Sept. 26, 1921, in Humble, to L.E. and Pearl Durdin.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leroy Haertig; one sister and brother-in-law, Everette and Homer Taylor; and one brother, Bill Durdin.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Jean Kureska; two sons, Robert Neal Haertig and wife Linda, and Dennis Wayne Haertig and wife Edie; one sister, Ilda Glasgow and husband Bob of Pflugerville; one sister-in-law, Dorthea Durdin of Richardson; one brother-in-law Robert L. Haertig and wife Jean of Bothell, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, Feb. 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m. at Faith United Church in Woodsboro, with the Rev. Michael Mumme officiating. Burial was in La Rosa Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jeff Gillespie, Jason Gillespie, Wayne Haertig, Kelly Haertig, Robert Haertig and Willie Haertig.
Memorials may be made to Faith United Church in memory of Lila Rae Haertig or to a charity of one’s choice.
