“This was a much needed victory after a tough loss to Moody. The ladies were disciplined at the plate and took care of the routine plays in the field,” said JV head coach Ophelia De Los Santos.
The Beeville girls scored in all four innings while they limited the visitors to one fifth inning run but it was way too little and too late.
The Lady Trojans scored twice in each of the first two innings. A single run crossed the plate in the third for the home team. The Beeville girls then exploded for five runs in the bottom of the fourth to put the game way out of reach.
Adrianna Baltazar got the win as she pitched well against the visitors, going the distance and striking out 12 Lady Texans en route to the victory.
Alexis Pelitire. Patsy Longoria and Kymberly Wolfe had multiple hit games for the Lady Trojans. Amanda Gonzales smacked a double as did Ryan De La Garza to provide the power. De La Garza picked up two RBI’s while Longoria and Wolfe each came through with one RBI.
The win improves the JV girls’ record to 11-4 on the season and a lofty 5-1 slate in district play.
The Beeville teams played at Gregory-Portland on Tuesday night and will be in Victoria on Friday evening for a non-district confrontation with the Lady Vipers.
