The final score of Tuesday night’s varsity baseball game ended with the host Gregory-Portland Wildcats in front, 15-3.

Defensive miscues and the inability to get a timely hit were the main problems for the Trojans, according to head coach Tom Carrera.

“Pitching kind of hurt us also because we seem to continue to walk people and leave the ball over the plate. We seem to have fallen into a rough slump all the way around and at the worst time,” Carrera said.

“Maybe the off week will help us recharge our batteries and get to playing good Trojan hardball again.”

The varsity boys baseball team is off until a Tuesday evening clash with the Miller Bucs at Joe Hunter Field. The first pitch is set for 7 p.m.
