David Garza Flores, 68, died Thursday, April 29.

He was born in Refugio, on Jan. 11, 1942 to Candelario Flores and Lenora Garza Flores.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, two sisters, and one brother.

Survivors include his wife Maria D. Flores of Refugio; four daughters and their husbands, Brenda Flores and Tom Pruskie of LaVernia; Deanna and Steve O’Brian of San Antonio, Nancy and Adam Cantu of Sinton and Maricela Flores of Refugio; five sons and their wives, Johnny and Lydia Flores; Jimmy and Cindy Flores; David and Vera Flores, all of Victoria, Francisco Flores of Refugio and Candelario and Erica Flores of Refugio; three sisters, Josephine Thompson, Mary Cantu, and Tillie and husband Mike Hilliard; three brothers and their wives, Daniel and Rachael Flores, Rocky and Peggy Flores, and Jesse and Theresa Flores; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grand children; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Joel Contreras, Benny Jerry “BJ” Flores, Roland Cantu, Richard Cantu, Daniel Castellano, and Lionel Porras Jr.

Honorary pallbearers are Marc Flores, Walter Thompson, Chris Hilliard, Renee Flores, Ruben Ramirez, Truman Bland, Richard Botello, Hector Botello, J.R. Botello, and Joe David Solis.

A rosary was recited Sunday, May 2, at 7 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home Chapel.

Mass was celebrated Monday, May 3, at 1 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church.

Burial was in Flores Cemetery in Goliad.
