Mr. Flores was born on Feb. 8, 1936, in George West to Maria Consuelo (Villarreal) Flores and Ignacio Flores Sr. He was a truck driver and a member of St. James Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Josefina (Sanchez) Flores; a son, Ramon Hernandez; a sister, Emma Carabajal; and a brother, Ray Flores.
Survivors include a daughter, Janie (Poncho) Chavarria of Houston; special friend and companion, Elva J. Puentes of Beeville; a sister, Rachel Lara of Corpus Christi; a brother, Ignacio Flores Jr. of Mathis; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held Monday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Angelus Funeral chapel. A rosary was recited there that evening at 7:30.
The funeral Mass was celebrated at St. James Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Balaswamy Pasala officiating. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore.
Pallbearers were Steve Lara, Jason Lara, Rene Rivas, Justin Lara, Salvador Galvan Jr. and Lupe Chapa III.
