According to Bee County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Steve Martin, someone stole a McMillan brand hydraulic auger with a 48-by-12-inch rock bit from Beck Brothers Inc. sometime in October.
The auger and bit were located at the company’s property off Ellis Road in Bee County at the time they were taken.
The auger and bit are designed to be used on a backhoe tractor. The auger is painted yellow and the bit is painted orange.
The reward will be paid to anyone who can provide a lead or tip that results in the return of the property.
Crime Stoppers also is offering a $1,000 cash reward for anyone who can provide information on who has been responsible for a recent rash of big-screen, flat-panel display televisions sets.
According to investigators with the Beeville Police Department, it is suspected that the televisions have been targeted by someone who has seen the property from the street in a neighborhood in the city’s northeast quadrant.
Most of the televisions were taken after burglars kicked in doors when the victims were away from home.
Anyone who might have information is asked to report it by calling the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 362-0206.
The identities of people providing tips will remain anonymous.
