Villarreal was arrested on warrants but was released from jail on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond. He is accused of assaulting a 14-year-old child over a period of four years, according to Detective Fernando Garcia of the Refugio Police Department, who conducted the investigation.
“The investigation began in June,” Garcia said.
The youngster was taken to a child advocacy center in Corpus Christi for questioning and evaluation.
The indictments were returned to the district clerk’s office on November 14.
