We have received so many blessings at the Beeville Vineyard that we want to thank the community for the generous outpouring of food and funds for Thanksgiving. Because of this we were able to give out more than 200 food boxes to needy families during November!
On behalf of the Vineyard, I would like to thank those who helped fill our pantry shelves — St. Philip’s Episcopal Church and School, First Christian Church of Beeville, First United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church.
Bee County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Justice Explorers Post Scouts brought 2,000 items including those collected from BISD schools and local law enforcement agencies. More food donors were Coastal Bend College anatomy and physiology classes; Key Club, two truck loads of bottled water; Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop #351; students at R.A. Hall, a large pickup load; FCCLA; Dan Flynn; Marlyn Ortega; and several anonymous donors.
The Community Thanksgiving service, sponsored by the Ministerial Alliance, received $600 from those attending. This most inspirational service, hosted by Faith Lutheran Church, reminded us of the many blessings we have to be thankful for in these tough economic times and, most importantly, the gift of grace through our Lord’s sacrifice.
Thanks to all who gave to help others.
Sincerely,
Bettye Hale
