Reynaldo G. Perez, 91, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008. He worked for the city of Refugio prior to his retirement; and he also was a rancher.

He was born July 11, 1917, in Beeville.

Survivors include his wife, Margarita Valenzuela Perez of Refugio; seven daughters, Virginia Sutherland, Jessie Valenzuela, Delia Huerta, Bertha Farias, Rose Lara and Rose Ann Massey, all of San Antonio, Jeanie Rachel Guiterrez of Victoria; two step-daughters, Rose Brown of Hallettsville and Margaret Sanchez of Yoakum; two sons, Ramon Ponce of Refugio and Bernaldo Perez of San Antonio; two sisters, Maria Gonzales and Lucia Mascorro, both of Refugio; 47 grandchildren; 102 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great-grandchildren.

A rosary was recited at 7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 15, at Moore Funeral Home Chapel.

Mass was celebrated at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 16, at St. James Catholic Church.

Pallbearers were Tommy Ponce, Michael Silvas, Henry Farias, Jr., Bernaldo Perez Jr., Eddie Gonzales Jr., Ruben R. Lara and David Ponce.
