The keynote speaker will be Charlie Stone, Executive Director of the Texas Department of Rural Affairs (TDRA).
Stone graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a degree in Criminal Law. He served as a Trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety and later served as Refugio County Judge.
He joined the TDRA in February 2002, and was selected to serve as the second Executive Director in December 2004.
He runs the day-to-day operations of the agency whose focus is on rural economic development, community development, healthcare and housing issues.
