The Austwell-Tivoli Independent School District is attempting to round up the names of four-year-old children living in the district prior to consideration of providing a pre-kindergarten class in 2010-2011, according to principal Stephen Maldonado.

To be eligible for the pre-kindergarten class, a child must be four years of age prior to Sept. 1, 2010, and meet either of the following requirements, must be limited in speaking or using the English language or be from whose income meets the eligibility requirements of the schools free or reduced lunch program.

Any parent or guardian of a child in the Austwell-Tivoli School District who meets the criteria should come by the Tivoli Elementary principal’s office during the month of May to register their child.

A copy of the child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and proof of family income should be provided at the time of registration.
