Brush Country CattleWomen will lead a Masters of Beef Advocacy Program July 26 for Live Oak County 4-H Club members grade 6-12, their parents and leaders.

Registration and breakfast begins at the Brush Country Cowboy Church Fellowship Hall at 8:30 a.m. The program begins at 9 a.m. and will end at 5 p.m. with lunch served at noon.

Youth, parents and leaders should pre-register by July 22 by calling the Live Oak Extension Office at 449-1703 or 449-1859.

The MBA program was developed by The Beef Board with Beef Checkoff funds to aid beef producers in meeting the challenge presented by the passionate and vocal anti-animal agriculture activists who question the treatment of animals in food production, the impact of the beef industry on the environment, the role of beef in a healthy diet and the safety of beef products. This on-line training program of six courses offers rewards and recognition to graduates and equips them to become informed and effective advocates to friends, family, schools, civic groups, print and broadcast media and through electronic communications.

Members of the beef industry and anyone interested in learning the facts to fight the anti-agriculture movement may fmd more information on the MBA program by contacting the Extension Office or BCCW through Andie Estes at 361-547-9100.
