Alicia Moreno Gonzales died on Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, in a local hospital after a long illness.

She was born in Beeville to Gilbert L. and Sarah Rubio Moreno.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Lorenzo “Lencho” Gonzales of Beeville; one son, Rafael (Juanita) Gonzales of Beeville; one daughter, Elizabeth Wisenbaker of Houston; two sisters, Leila (Freddy) Tijerina and Irma Del Bosque, both of Beeville; and two granddaughters, Chandra and Celestina Gonzales.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her paternal grandparents, Jose J. and Adela Longoria Moreno; and maternal grandparents, Dario and Maria Inez Soliz Rubio.

A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Treviño Funeral Home. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Luke officiating. Burial followed at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.

Pallbearers were Reno Del Bosque, John Franco, Oscar Franco, Gilbert Franco, Julian Rodriguez and Paul Tijerina.
