I have proudly served our country as a United States Naval Officer, our State as a Board Member on the Board of Pardons and Paroles, and my home county, Bee County, as its county judge, and county attorney. I have a total of over 22 years of public service.
Like many of you, I have become angry, frustrated, and disappointed in the direction our politicians have taken been taking us. They are killing the American Dream!
When I thought about my two sons in the Army who have fought for us in Iraq, and when I looked at the beautiful, innocent faces of my 7 grandchildren, I wondered what kind of future were they going to have? Who was going to fight for them?
Would they have the same or a better chance at the American Dream than I had? A recent C.B.S. poll said that more Americans than not believe that their children will not have a better future than they had. This is America and that is not acceptable!
I happen to believe it is not too late to turn things around, but it is going take serious leadership, strength, determination, and God’s good grace to correct our course. Unfortunately, the weak, liberal Democrat incumbent is not the solution, she is part of the problem—she votes against common sense things like Voter I.D., and votes to increase taxes, the size of government, and more spending.
I am a warrior. I have worn our nation’s uniform. I know how to lead, but it was politics that made me tough. I don’t go along, just to get along. As the Bee County Attorney, I prosecuted cases of voter fraud and public officials for official misconduct. As the Bee County Judge, I stopped those on our Commissioners’ Court who wanted to raise taxes and spend more money. As a Member of the Board of Pardons and Parole, I resisted the political pressures to release dangerous criminals onto our streets.
Now more than ever, we are going to need a conservative, common sense warrior to represent House District 35 in Austin— a warrior prepared to cut a budget that is projected to have an 18 billion dollar shortfall, a warrior willing and able to fight for our district, its values, and its priorities, a strong Republican warrior to support our other Republican elected officials against the over-reach of the Obama/Pelosi/Reid federal government, and a true conservative warrior to help bring back this nation, this state, and this district to the traditions and values that made us great.
