The first litter clean-up for the Three Rivers Garden Club took place on Saturday, Oct. 16.

This was in conjunction with the Texas Highway Department’s Adopt-A-Highway program. Seven members enjoyed an interesting and joyful day as they cleaned their designated area on Highway 281.

Prior to their workday, all of the members viewed a video with information about safety and do’s/don’ts. Volunteers were furnished with signs which were displayed during the trash pick-up as well as safety vests.

The cool Autumn weather was just gorgeous as they worked and visited with each other. The Three Rivers Garden Club was glad to help clean up the city, county and state of Texas!

The volunteers present for the cleanup were: Vangie Alaniz, Jacqueline Coquat, Mildred Estep, Linda Halbrook, Drusanne Hunter, Peggy Skoruppa and Celia Ruiz.
