Professional storyteller and teacher MaryAnn Blue not only tells a great tale but also coaches others in the art of storytelling.

A Spanish teacher at Saint Mary’s Hall in San Antonio, Blue has been quite successful over the years coaching students in storytelling. George West Storyfest is privileged to bring some of these young storytellers to our stage this year.

Youth storytellers who were gold medal winners at the 2010 South Central Regional Texas Storytelling Youth Challenge will be showcase their talent on the GW Stage at noon and again on the TCA Stage at 5 p.m. Appearing on stage will be talented youth storytellers Jolie Heerema, Luke Rowland, Lyle Seeligson, Ruth Ann Chincanchan, Philip Clement, Avery Huddleston, and J. T. Garcia, all students at Saint Mary’s Hall and coached by MaryAnn Blue.

Of particular local interest, youth storyteller Lyle Seeligson is the great-great-great-niece of town founder George W. West.
