Salsa Festival set for April 2

Mark you calendars for April 2. This is the date of the 2011 Salsa Festival in downtown Three Rivers.

There will be the usual food and vendor booths, children’s games, salsa tasting and judging and entertainment.

Entertainment on the country and western stage will begin with Chris Rybak at 10 a.m. The Brush Country Music Jamboree band will come on at 11 a.m. The band will consist of Joe Nixon and Ricky Turpin on twin fiddles; James Skidmore on drums; Larry Sellers on bass guitar; George Norris on rhythm guitar; Peter Kane on piano; Stan Zettner on accordian; Gary Carriger on steel guitar; Kim Greene on lead guitar and fiddle; Eddie Maxwell on lead guitar; and Lothell DuBose and Adele Neill as back-up singers.

Other guest performers will be Dottie Jack of Bay City; Larry and Bobby O’Neal of Gonzales; Jack Higgenbotham of Austin; Allen Torans of San Antonio; Brandy Davidson of Bellville; and the Rockport Gospel Force. Also, the legendary Texas band The Texas Top Hands will perform on one of the breaks.
