Discussions led by Sparks centered around the taxes and property values, transportation options for southeast Live Oak County, issues dealing with GWISD staff recruitment and retention, and the students of GWISD.
Following, Sparks introduced junior students, Luke Sehlke and Hillary Sellman who presented The History of George West Schools. The students described the generosity of George W. West and the vision he had for our community. They detailed how George West ISD evolved into its current educational system.
Students also included a discussion about activities in which they were involved and the advanced coursework in which they were participating including ‘advanced placement’ and ‘dual credit’ courses.
