George West varsity boys lose to Dilley

Senior Colton Tindol lead the Longhorns with 16 points in the district matchup with Dilley last Friday. The Longhorns came up short 51-56 in closely contested game.

The George West Varsity Boy’s lost an exciting game to Dilly on Friday night 56-51. It was an exciting game with a large crowd. The Longhorns came out playing extremely well on defense. The Longhorns jumped out to a 33-19 halftime lead.

Colton Tindol and Oscar Martinez each had ten first half points. Shannon Taylor and Marcus Miller each had three first half steals. Michael Blevins and Travis Walker each five defensive rebounds.

In the third quarter, the Longhorns went cold. The Longhorns only scored six third quarter points. In the fourth quarter both teams turned up the intensity on defense and offense. After several lead changes, the Wolves grabbed a 52-51 lead with ten seconds to play. The Longhorns had to foul to stop the clock and Dilly converted the free throws for 56-51 win.

The leading scores were Colton Tindol 16 points, Oscar Martinez 15 points, Travis Walker eight points and Marcus Miller four points, Albert Gamez four points, Shannon Taylor four points, Michael Blevins two points.
