The seventh grade boys basketball team competed in the Refugio basketball tournament this past weekend and came away with third place.

The Bulldogs fell short in their first game against Refugio. Hagan Johnston led the scoring with eight points. Tanner Johanson put in four. Amit Patel had three points and Robert Moreno had one on the loss.

The Bulldogs then played Yorktown and won third place in the tournament by defeating them 38-31.

Moreno scored 18 while Johnston scored 16 and Avery Newport and Johnathan Aikens each scored two.

The Bulldogs defense played tough in the game, led by Gage Saenz, John Hesseltine, Travis Smith and Chris Lopez.

The Bulldogs will be traveling to Freer on Thursday night looking for their third win of the season.
