He was born on March 19, 1929, in Obion County, TN, to Rufus and Ruby Duncan Neisler. He was married to his wife Helen for 47 years. They had five children. He was active in his church for many years and liked to camp and fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 47 years.
Surviviors include his five children, Ruby (Chris) Stewart, Curtis (Deborah) Neisler, Teresa (Bill) Haywood, Patti (James) White, and Jo Ann Phillips, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation was held on Wednesday, Sept. 7 from 5-7 p.m. and Thursday Sept. 8 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home.
Interment followed at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to Bastrop State Park and or Chapter 17 Disabled American Veterans in Universal City.
