On Saturday, Sept. 24 VFW Post 6199, Veterans and Ladies Auxiliary will host the opening ceremonies with the Honor Guard presenting the flags at 8 a.m. We will announce the names of Live Oak County Veterans. These men and women have proudly carried the flags and honored all veteran’s with their faithful support.

It was truly an honor for me to attend the Auxiliary meeting and the men’s session. Their devotion is truly overwhelming.

Everyone is invited to Cactus Park starting with opening ceremony. There will be food and arts and crafts available. The poker run begins at 10 a.m. At 3 p.m. music and field events will begin. There will be a lot of laughs and fun.

Bar-be-cue, catered by Big Lou, will be served at 5:30. Music will be by Ralph Lopez.

Come out and support the museum fundraiser so we will be able to house the Veterans uniforms and pictures.
