Lady Horns 2-1

The Freshmen Lady Horns are 2-1 in district play. They began the season by traveling to Cotulla and defeating the Cowgirls in two, 25-9 and 25-7.

Bethany Brysch served 13 aces in the match with Elida Cuevas and Brittney Mathis with four aces each. Cassi Moya had a kill while Aspen Hallam contributed with three assists.

The next opponent in district was Jourdanton. George West won in two games with scores of 25-8 and 25-14. Blake Mosley and Brysch turned in six digs each and Heaven Morin added one dig. Moya had a kill and Brysch had two blocks. Serving well for the Lady Horns were Brysch and Cuevas with six aces, Blake Molsey five, Hallam and Mathis with two each.

On Tuesday, the freshman team traveled to Poth. The Lady Horns played a tough match but lost in two sets with scores of 23-25 and 19-25. Brysch scored on five aces, Kaelyn Miles with three, and Elida Cuevas, two. Leading on defense were Brysch with 12 digs and Mosley with six. Mathis had three kills along with Brysch contributing two.
