Lady Bulldogs 7th-grade teams’ season under way

The Lady Bulldogs seventh grade B team started off the night by playing hard against the Lady yearlings.

The team consists of Gabi Sandoval, Alana Quiroz, Aerial Garza, Amber Edwards, Brooklyn Sbabo and Micaela Boutwell. Sandoval and Quiroz played hard defensively, having two steals each. Garza scored two points in the last few seconds of the first half to tie the score. Edwards, Sbabo and Boutwell played aggressively holding the Lady Yearlings from scoring in the second half. Garza stole the ball at the end of the game to score for the Lady Bulldogs, putting them up by two points.

The Lady Bulldogs came away with their first win of the season.

The seventh grade Lady Bulldogs A team defeated the George West Lady Yearlings with the score of 21-8 on Monday in Three Rivers.

The team of India Moreno, Ashley Granderson, Angelina Bowerman, Katrina Horton, Lillie Council, Adrianna Anzandula and Kylie Garner came to play basketball on Monday night.

Bowerman had four points in the first quarter while Horton, Garner, Moreno and Anzandula played well on the defensive side. At the end of the first quarter, the teams were tied 4-4.

The second quarter was the turning point for the Lady Bulldogs they came out strong offensively, Moreno had three points, Bowerman, four points and Anzadula, two points Horton, Council and Granderson each had two steals and had an excellent quarter playing defense. The Lady Bulldogs held the Lady Yearlings throughout the second quarter and did not let them score.

The third quarter the Lady Bulldogs had another quarter of playing great on offense and defense. Bowerman and Anzandula both had two points, and the Lady Bulldogs held the Yearlings to just two points in the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, the Lady Bulldogs came out strong, showing no signs of weakness, by playing great on defense and Bowerman leading the quarter with four points. The Lady Bulldogs showed great sportsmanship and showed their never give up attitude as they worked hard as a team.

The Lady Bulldogs will be traveling to Jourdanton, on Dec. 12 to take on the Squaws at 5 p.m.
