TRJH boys lose to Jourdanton Indians

The Junior High Bulldog boys basketball team took on the Jourdanton Indians last week for the last game before the holiday break.

The seventh grade Bulldogs took a hard loss to the Indians 32-9. Playing hard on the boards was Levi Lansford, who had five rebounds. Hunter Haag had four rebounds and three steals. Dylan Pawlik had two rebounds and also playing well defensively were Matt Smith, Lupe Cordova, Kyle Lange, Josh Gallardo, Dawson Bednorz, and Stephen Alexieff.

In the eighth grade game, the Bulldogs had a hard time getting shots over the aggressive Indian defense. The Bulldogs came up short 39-17. Leading the Bulldogs on defense and rebounds was Tony Hinojosa with seven rebounds and two blocked shots. Ryan Retzloff also caused four turnovers and had three rebounds. Ivan Rodriguez also had four rebounds on the night.

Scoring for the Bulldogs on the nights included: Ricky Horton with nine points, Dawson Bednorz with four points, Hinojosa with three points, Josh Gallardo with three points, Fidel Luna with two points, Rodriguez with two points and Retzloff with one point.

The Bulldogs next game will be Jan. 5 in Dilley and the Annual Three Rivers Junior High Tournament will be held Jan. 14.
