The Three Rivers seventh grade boys white team traveled to Freer last week and came up just short 15-18 against the Buckaroos.

The Bulldogs held the lead after the first quarter as Juan Rios hit a three pointer and another basket to put Three Rivers up 5-2. Rios hit another three pointer in the second quarter as the score was tied 8-8 at halftime. Rios still had the hot hand in the second half as he hit another three pointer along with Gage Saenz to put the Bulldogs up 15-8 after the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Freer found some offense and pulled away from TR to take the victory away from the Bulldogs, 15-18. Keller Hughes also added a point in the game on a free throw. Chris Lopez had four steals on the night. Defensively, the Bulldogs got a great effort from Travis Smith and Jordan Hines.

The seventh grade red team took on the Buckaroos also last week and took control of Freer from the start of the game. Leading scorer for the Bulldogs was Robert Moreno with 29 points. Avery Newport added eight points also. Johnathon Aikens and Hagan Johnston had five points apiece, each hitting a three pointer. Dillon Guajardo had a three pointer also and Tanner Johanson had two points.

Defensively, the Bulldogs were led by Newport with seven rebounds and John Hesseltine and Ahmit Patel added four rebounds apiece.
