Last Tuesday night in Cotulla the Lady Horns chalked up another win, bringing their district record to 4-1 and placing them solid second in the District 31-2A race.

The ladies played aggressive and kept their composer through-out the game. The ladies kept their scoring consistent all four quarters and held the Cowgirls to 10 points in the first half of the ball game. Leading the Lady Horns in scoring was Savannah Franco with 11 points which consisted of one three.

Jessica Gasaway had nine which consisted of five free throws. Hannah Iley added seven even while getting pushed around a little, Alyssa Johnston threw in six even being doubled team, Veronica Gutierrez managed six points, two of which were unchallenged and Justine Troell hit two threes that made hers and Coach Thompson’s day: shes back! Kayla Wallek and Kim Villafranca rounded the scoring out with two each.

The Lady Horns played hard both ways, Villafranca and Johnston each wrapped up three steals, Franco and Troell grabbed two a piece, and Gasaway and Kayla Wallek got one.

The whole team rebounded well on both ends of the court. George West’s overall record is 13-9.
