The 162-hour CDL course includes Haz Mat training; 4-hour driver evaluation training for companies; solution-based driving helps drivers with defensive driving; skid and rollover prevention; and simulation training for hazardous driving conditions.
To register, applicants must show proof that they have:
° passed a criminal background check;
° have proof of a clean Motor Vehicle Record;
° pass a DOT medical physical that includes drug and alcohol screening; and
° possess temporary permit for CDL at Texas Department of Public Safety office.
Upon completion of the program, drivers will be eligible to take the state CDL exam. At the end of the class, when they apply for Haz Mat endorsement, they will have to get FBI fingerprint and national criminal background check.
