Donald Ray Spears, 53, died Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at his residence in George West, following an extended illness.

Mr. Spears was owner/operator of DCD Electric in George West and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and enjoyed fishing and drag racing.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Johnson Spears of George West; two sons, Charles “Charlie” (Amber) Spears of Campbellton and Dustin Spears of George West; a daughter, Jeanna Spears of Gallipolis, Ohio; his parents, Frank and Henrietta Colle of Oakville; four brothers, Robert “Bubba” Spears and Travis Colle, both of Oakville, Clint (Tesse) Colle of Alice and Ernie (Jolene) Colle of Skidmore; two sisters, Debbie Trbula of Oakville and Vickie (Cole) McClendon of Ray Point; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation, beginning with a prayer service, was held Sunday, Feb. 5, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Roberson Funeral Home Chapel in Three Rivers.

The funeral service was conducted Monday, Feb. 6, morning at 10 o’clock at St. Paul Lutheran Church in George West. Burial followed at the Oakville Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Charlie Spears, Dustin Spears, Larry Johnson, Cole McClendon, Bubba Spears, Ernie Colle, Travis Colle and Clinton Colle.

Services were under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Three Rivers.
