Lucio F. Chapa, age 78, died Feb. 10, 2012 at a local nursing home in George West following an extended illness. He was born to Manuel G. and Miqacia (Fuentes) Chapa on Nov. 24, 1933 in George West. He worked in construction. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Endercio F. Chapa and Uvaldo F. Chapa and three sisters, Antonia C. Guerrero, Eva C. Lopez and Delfina Lopez.

Survivors include his wife, Sulema Chapa of George West, two sons, Juan Manuel Chapa of George West, Joel (Leticia) Chapa of George West, two daughters, Esmeralda (Louis) Cuevas of George West, Gracie (Ronnie) Lane of George West, two brothers, Manuel F. Chapa Jr. of George West, Ismael F. Chapa of Three Rivers, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and several nephews.

Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. at the St. George Catholic Church in George West.

Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, Feb. 13 at 10 a.m. at the St. George Catholic Church in George West.

Burial followed at the St. George Catholic Cemetery in George West.

Services entrusted to Roberson Funeral Home in Three Rivers.
