James Wesley Maxwell, 98, died Feb. 8, 2012 at a local nursing home. He was born to Robert William and Alice Lavinia (McFadden) Maxwell on May 3, 1913 in San Saba County, near Brownwood. He worked for Mobile Oil for over 40 years and was a gauger.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 60 years, Avis Maxwell.

Survivors include two sons, James Wayne (Linda) Maxwell of Freer and Carlton Leon (Debbie) Maxwell of Kingsland; two daughters, Alice Marie (Eugene) Lame of Kingsland and Jeanne Lois (Wesley) Baldeschwiler of George West; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Visitation was held Friday, Feb. 10, from 7-9 p.m. at Roberson Funeral Home in Three Rivers.

Funeral service was Saturday, Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church. Burial followed at the Three Rivers Cemetery.
