Three Rivers FCCLA competed in STAR events at the Region 5 meeting in Corpus Christi, Feb. 23-25. Eighteen students participated in nine different events. STAR events promote leadership in community service in the home, school and community.
Three middle school students, Lillie Council, Hunter Haag and Gabby Sandoval participated in Chapter Service Project Manual and placed first.
Freshmen, Tori Garcia, Amanda Ginster and Vanessa Stewart used their speaking skills in Interpersonal Communications and also placed first.
After serving healthy snacks in the fall to Our Savior Lutheran Church’s God Squad, Kristen Pullin and Sophia Sulaica presented their event in Focus on Children and won first place.
Senior, Darcy Orsak won second place in Fashion Construction with her 1950’s reproduction dress.
Another Senior duo, Alex Guerrero and Dannelle Gentry helped create memories for students at South Texas Children’s Home. They placed second in Chapter Service Project Manual.
Cheyenne Pullin bragged on our Chapter activities through the year in Chapter Showcase Manual and received a fifth place finish.
Maranda Lamprecht and Brooklynn Soliz proposed ways to stop bullying at our school in National Programs. They finished in sixth place.
Angie Sauceda and Brittany Smith placed fifth in Entrepreneurship on their propose to start a small business called ‘Icing on the Cake’.
Also competing were Heather Thomas and Kristen Almendarez in Chapter Sercice Project Display in a project honoring veterans.
