Three Rivers art students receive regional medals in V.A.S.E. competition

The Visual Arts Scholastic Event (V.A.S.E.) is a premier high school art competition that judges the students’ knowledge of art and their artwork during an interview. Three Rivers High School art students participated at Regional V.A.S.E. in Rockport on Feb. 18. Students participating in the event were Gilbert Aguirre, Dannelle Gentry, Maegan Haag, Kailey Harless, Katherine Mackey, Alexis McCue, Darcy Orsak, Tyler Pullin, Nidhi Rathod, Cristina Salinas, Brittany Shipman, Dagan Teague, Yancey Wynn. These 13 students entered 21 artworks and brought home 15 Regional medals.

Regional winners receiving one Regional medal were Kailey Harless, Alexis McCue, Nidhi Rathod, Dagan Teague and Yancy Wynn.

Students receiving two Regional medals were Maegan Haag, Darcy Orsak, Tyler Pullin, Cristina Salinas and Brittany Shipman.

This artwork will be exhibited at the annual Live Oak County Fair in March.
