On Saturday, March 3, George West High School Girls varsity power lifting team competed at the regional power lifting meet at Bishop High School. Our girls competed at a very high level with great success.

Placement is as follows: Jay Carrillo placed first in the 220+ division and also received awards for the best squatter and best bench of the whole meet.

Yolanda Sanchez placed second in the 165 division.

Maizie Villarreal placed eighth in the 220 division.

Jay and Yolanda qualified for the state meet held in Corpus Christi March 16. We have had an awesome year and it’s not over yet.
