Brush Country Cattlewomen met at their regularly scheduled meeting April 5 at the Buck West House in George West. Reports were given on the success of our fair float and fair booth.

A discussion was held concerning LFTB (lean finely textured beef). Contrary to media hype, this additive is pure beef, has been used for over 20 years, and is completely safe.

It was recommended that all members contact our senators to support SB 2122. This bill defines navigable waters. The EPA’s definition would usurp property rights.

The speaker for the meeting was Jim Kuiken, Republican candidate for U.S. Representative. He talked about his background and why he was running for this office. He also conducted a question and answer session.

A delicious meal catered by Moore Catering was served. The hostesses were Diana Ormand, Melba Wolfe, Sheri Volmering and Mary Ann Pawlik.
