Lorraine Truax Hartman, 75, died Jan. 15, following a long illness. She was born Jan. 21, 1933 in Three Rivers. She was active in St. John Lutheran Church and Immaculate Conception. She was a member of the Astron Club and the Red Hatters. She was retired from the Harlingen Area Teachers' Credit Union and Harlingen Municipal Federal Credit Union. She and her first husband, Hatch (Uncle Peanut) owned and operated Truax Drive-In Grocery in San Benito. They were active in the Elks Lodge and Coin Collectors Club.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her husband, Elmo Hartman, two daughters, Debi (Bobby) Lange and Missy (Sam) Morrow; one son, Paul (Michele) Truax; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; four sisters; and one brother.

Visitation was Monday, Jan. 19 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Goliad. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Jan. 20 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Christi Pursey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Prayer Shawl group at St. John's Lutheran Church.

Grace Funeral Home of Victoria was in charge of arrangements.
