The Lady Yearlings played Freer for their opening game of the season. The final score of that game was GW 26, Freer 4. Last week’s game against Freer evidenced the Lady Yearlings hard work and growth over the current season.

The game began with a high-scoring quarter for the Lady Yearlings as they accrued 18 points by the first quarter and 20 by halftime, all the while holding Freer to a mere two points in the first half. The third quarter was another high scoring quarter for the Lady Yearlings bringing the point total to 34 while Freer did not score any points. Finally, the game ended with GW 42 and Freer 4.

Point totals for the game were Marley Snider, 14; Kaylee Brysch, 12; Mary Cansino, six; Kate Jimerson, four; Jacy Johnson, two; and Brooke Schroeder, two. Other Lady Yearlings contributing to this game and the season’s success are Rachel Arvizu, Caysi Holt, Mel Rodriguez, Sarah Whitley and Victoria Wasicek.

The 8th grade Lady Yearlings, both A and B teams, have done an outstanding job in working hard each day to improve themselves as dedicated athletes, hard workers, tough competitors, and young ladies of character!
